When did you start rodeoing? I grew up on a ranch so I started
riding horses at a young age. I probably started rodeoing at age 5,
riding sheep; Then I just gradually climbed the ladder to calves,
steers, then junior bulls, and then I started riding saddle broncs when
I got old enough to. So I have been rodeoing almost my entire life.
Do you carry a lucky piece with you when you compete? Sometimes I
will carry a coin in my back left pocket. Other than that I consider the
eagle feather in my hat to be lucky.
What other sports are you interested in? I played basketball,
and football in high school, so I still enjoy following them.
What’s the funniest thing you've seen at a rodeo? I have seen
quite a few funny things at rodeos, but I guess one would be some of the
costumes that people come up with to use for the wild ride.
If you were to give a native youth advice about how to get started in
rodeo.. What would it be? If you want to rodeo attend a bunch of
rodeo schools or have someone help you that knows what they are doing.
Then, once you get started keep practicing as much as you can. Don't
ever give up or hang your head, it will come.
What do you like to do while traveling on the rodeo road? I like
to listen to music, watch movies, play cards, or sometimes just look at
the scenery.
What is your favorite pastime? I enjoy hunting and fishing in my
free time.
What is Your Favorite Movie? I enjoy watching a lot of movies,
but Lonesome Dove is probably my most favorite.
Favorite Music? I will listen to just about anything.
What would you like to see change in the whole aspect of rodeo?
I would like to see bigger crowds and more advertising for the many more
rodeo events each year.
Would you like to thank your sponsors for you successful year in
