“A vision
from the Native Women in Agriculture”
In 2004 in Hollywood Florida at the
Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Resort the 18th
Annual Inter-Tribal Agriculture Symposium planning
committee planned a luncheon- Recognizing Native Women in
the Agricultural field. An Idea came about .. Hopes of
gathering all the Native Women in Agriculture together to
form an organization for Native Women in Agriculture.
Nearly 200 women gathered for the first annual women in
Agriculture Luncheon. At the Seminole Hard Rock Casino- The
Native Women came to hear a vision and dream for Native
women. Janie Hipp came to the Inter-Tribal Agriculture
Symposium to share this dream of -Native Women in
Agriculture. At this luncheon many questions were asked on
the purpose and future of this new organization- Who, What
where and When..

In the future- The Native Women in
Agriculture could perhaps be a voice or advocate programs
for Native women in the agricultural field. Several Native
Women from various parts of Indian Country volunteered to
set some grounds to form a board to promote The Native Women
in Agriculture. Naturally, Native women thought of the youth
first-
